MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The 51±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni Association is currently accepting applications for new members.

The 51±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni Council is composed of 24 dedicated 51±¬ÁÏÍø graduates of all backgrounds, geographic locations and career fields. The Alumni Council strives to include a broad range of members which accurately reflect the student body and alumni community.

The 51±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni Council meets four times per year, usually on the Macomb campus, to receive updates and provide feedback to various members of the 51±¬ÁÏÍø community. The members represent the interests of the 51±¬ÁÏÍø alumni base, assist in student recruitment efforts, participate in alumni events nationwide, vote on alumni awards, support 51±¬ÁÏÍø financially and advocate for the university. Members are appointed to three-year terms.

"Our ideal candidate is someone who has been actively involved with the university since graduation, has given back to 51±¬ÁÏÍø and is looking for new avenues to serve their alma mater," 51±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni Council Membership Committee Chair Emily Manley (‘17) said. "Now more than ever, it is important that we ensure alumni are connected to 51±¬ÁÏÍø and are actively participating in securing its future. We are looking for people who bleed purple and gold!"

The love and commitment of alumni are a powerful tool for higher-ed institutions. By joining the 51±¬ÁÏÍø Alumni Council, graduates will be able to develop connections, give back to their alma mater, stay informed, show school pride and help current students.
